The foundation to flawless natural looking skin

The key to great looking makeup is the foundation.

You can create the million-dollar look if you get the foundation of your skin right. More often than not, many ladies overlook this and focus a lot on the eye makeup or the lip colour. Without a flawless natural looking skin colour as the base, the most expensive and outstanding eye shadow, lipstick or blusher will not be able to last through the day on your skin. Finding the right foundation will make a difference between natural flawless skin or looking like you are wearing a mask.

There are many different types of foundation available in the market and just to list a few widely used types:

Tinted moisturiser - semi creamy-liquidy form that protects and moisturises skin while adding a hint of foundation colour. Coverage is limited but this is good if you just want to even out your skin tone while moisturising it.

Mousse or Whipped Foundation - liquid makeup with air whipped in. Light to use and comes in an aerosol-type skin. Skin will appear very smooth and flawless. Can be a bit pricey thou.

Liquid Foundation - liquid form that applies smoothly and readily available in most stores. However some brands may contain some skin-irritants eg mineral oil and waxy ingredients. Recently, more brands are substituting these harmful ingredients to herb oil and essential oil.
Two-way cake Foundation - powder cake applied with damp sponge and finishes like smooth powder, thus it's easy to apply. However, be gentle on the application, if not, skin will appear too cakey.

Mineral foundation - looks like loose powder, applied with flat top brush. Perfect for people with allergies or sensitive skin. Great for creating a soft flawless look, comparable to the airbrush. Gaining popularity due to its natural mineral pigments which acts as a natural sunscreen, easy to apply and remove, has no expiry date. Multiple usages as a concealer, foundation, and sun screen. The benefits are endless but do take note that some brands contain bismuth oxychloride that's harmful for skin.

Watch out next on tips on the techniques to apply the foundation, in particular, mineral foundation. The right application technique will create a smooth looking flawless complexion that looks just like natural healthy skin.
